Mesauda Cosmetics

Hey guys!

So this week I have been a little MIA, been crazy busy with work, college and now I have decided to re decorate our room just before am due to leave for London. Yes I am a little crazy if not a lot of crazy. Yeah so been super busy but I wanted to check in and share with you all this amazing new brand I have recently worked with, The brand is called Mesauda Cosmetics, they specialise in all things beauty, facial make up, lips, nails and accessories and this week they gave me a chance to try out their amazing desert sands bronzer.

I decided to test run the bronzer, when I went to my friends engagement party on saturday, the bronzer is very glittery when its on your skin, so I wouldnt use this for my normal day to day make up. I started out with my normal beauty routine and added on my Mesauda bronzer at the end. The smooth texture made it look as if I didnt have anything on, the only thing you could see was the sparkly glitter, which was perfect when I hit the dance floor I was all sparkly and even after all the dancing no top up was needed!

I am extremely impressed with this product, I had so much fun trying out a new product and on every night out I will be wearing this!

I am a Contour Virgin!

Yes its true, hello my name is Amie Louisa and I am a contour virgin. For so many months, since the “craze” started, I have been unsure whether to try it or not, I guess I was happy with my make up routine and didnt know what the big deal was. So yesterday I went out and got my self the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour set, I got this at Boots for only £6.49.

I am going to try this out, do a step by step photo guide and review it for all those out there that like me haven’t tried it or maybe those who have and are looking to find a cheaper option.

In the set you get 3 powders, first is a highlighter (lighter powder), a bronzer (medium brown) and a sculptor (dark brown). The thing I love about this set is the little guide, contouring looks pretty easy from all the videos I have watched and is also easy to remember but its always good to have a little guide just in case.

OK so step 1 is to put your daily foundation on.

before and after

My before and after foundation shot

For step 2 we highlight our cheekbones, chin and the length of your nose, all the way up to the center of your forehead with the first powder in our Barry M set.

Next we move on to the medium brown, sweep this across your cheeks, forehead and nose.

Then we apply our last shade, the dark brown to the hollows of your cheeks, blending this out all the way to the ears, along your hairline and then down the sides of your nose.

Our final step is to add a little blush this just helps bring a little colour to your face, I am using the Collection blusher “Bashful”, this is my favourite blusher not too pink, its really pretty and it stays on all day.

Ok guys so can we have a drum roll please……..

Final result

Thats it we are done, by now your face should look very chiseled, I have to say I am rather impressed and I now I get what I have been missing out on. I think Barry M Contour set has earned a permanent place in my make up bag!. After you have done your face you can head onto doing your eyes and lips the way you normally do. I can’t believe the difference! I am very very happy to recommend this to everyone and anyone, the have really nailed the chisel cheek look and I cant believe I have just came across this.

You can get yours at Boots online or in store and if you do let me know how it worked for you and if you love it as much as I do.

Lady In Red – Kiss Cosmetics

Happy National Lipstick Day!

I have always loved the look of Kiss Cosmetics lipsticks, but when buying online I am always a little unsure if I will suit the colour and if it even looks like it does in the pictures.

While scrolling through Twitter, I noticed Kiss Cosmetics had posted a campaign poster, advertising their new Mini range. This means you can test one of their lipsticks out for £2.00 including postage!

What a fab idea. I was on their site within seconds picking out the colour I would love to try. I ended up choosing Lady in Red, it is a darker red than I normally choose, but I am going to an engagement party next week and I really want my lips to pop!

Kiss Cosmetics have always had reviews that state that their lipsticks last forever and the colour hardly fades. This is exactly what I was looking for, so since its National Lipstick Day and Kiss Cosmetics were so quick with their delivery and have sent me my gorgeous mini lipstick I am going to pop it on and do a little test.

So that is a few shots above of me with my Lady in Red on, I have to say it is stunning, it makes me feel so classy and important and ladies note this down, the boyfriend noticed how good it looks to!

I have had it on now for 5 hours now and as you can see it still looks great! It has obviously faded a little but it is red, it pops and I have been drinking, talking and going about my daily routine. Overall I agree with the reviews they have had, the colour really does stay with you all day and my lips look really good. Their new mini test idea is my new beauty must have, I can’t wait to try out more colours and pair them with all my shoes! 🙂

Wedding Guest Make Up

Wedding season is here! I am so excited, I am such a sucker for a good wedding. Over the next few years, my boyfriend and I have so many good friends who are getting married. This means lots of outfits, engagement parties and pictures!

Our first came on Friday when our two friends got hitched, I am so over the moon for them, they are so well suited and are the sweetest couple in the world.

While getting ready I took some pictures, to complete a ‘wedding guest’ post, some help if you will, if you are stuck for hair ideas, make up or clothes.

No make up shot! The before to my after 🙂

Make up time!

After tanning up with some St Moriz, I used Maybellines new Dream Flawless Nude foundation, finishing off with some MUA bronzer. I know some people go into so much detail with their face make up but I like to keep it simple and light especially when I am going to a night wedding, all that dancing = a lot of sweating lol

For my eyes I did a simple smokey eye with my MUA palette. Finishing it off with my MaX Factor eye brightening mascara and my Miss Sporty liquid liner.

For my lips I choose Persian Rose by MUA, the magic £1.00 lipstick, that I absolutely love! I have to have one in every colour!

So that’s my make up done, I don’t tend to do a lot, I love having make up on but I hate having so much on, always harder to take off and sweating with black eyes is not a good look lol

For my hair, I couldn’t go up because it was too formal and I felt down was messy, so half up half down seemed perfect. I lifted the top section of my hair and back combed a little to give it some height. Using kirby grips I pined it up, pushing a little to make the quiff stand out. I curled the ends of my hair using my BaByliss curlers and added a light mist of hairspray to hold it all together. I will post a full ‘How To’ hair tutorial soon, maybe be easier to understand lol

That is it, all done, I was ready to rock it!

Keep your eyes peeled for the full hair tutorial on my half up half down look. 🙂

My Daily Beauty Routine

Hey Guys!

So today I decided to do a little post about my daily beauty routine, what I use and my favourite brands, so lets get started!

When I wake up in  the mornings the first thing I do is head to the bathroom and wash my face, its so much better to work with a clean palette lol!

Below is a scary before shot lol I am ok with my natural beauty but when someone takes a picture of me at 8 am I get a little hulk like lol

After my face is washed and dried, I like to use a foundation that is really light on my skin, I hate that feeling when foundations are so heavy. So I use this:

unnamed (16)

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation (£8.99 from boots)

Its their new foundation, came out recently and its the best foundation I have ever had. Its so light and smooth, you dont feel like you have anything on and it stays on your skin for hours no need for top ups! Also its application stick is awesome, its a tear shaped wand and when you take it out the wand drops the right amount on your hand that you need! Cool right? perfect when you don’t want to overuse and get your moneys worth!

I finish my face with some MUA bronzer the best £1.00 I have ever spent! It lifts your face to a whole new level. Instant cheek bones and a shine that makes me look as if I have been in the Costa Del Sol for a week lol

Next up eyes! The tricky part, everyone is posting these smokey eye tutorials and how do it right and the best things to use. My head is pickled already lol. So I came up with my own method lol.

I use:

MUA Eyeshadow Palette Undressed (£4.00 From superdrug)

MUA! I love all MUA products! Great quality and and great prices what more could you ask from your make up? On this palette I use shade 5 and apply it to my entire lid, then I use shade 10 and I put this across the outer 1/3 of my lid and the crease of my lid. Next up I use shade four to add some shimmer and then shad one under my brow to open up my eyes. I use my Barry M blending brush to blend my shades together and then I grab my Miss Sporty Studio Lash Liner and I draw a line from the inside of my lid to the outside. I get my Barry M brush and I blend my liner a little with the shadow I have on already. Doing this gives you the ultimate dark smokey look! 🙂 I finish off my eyes with my Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara, make sure you get the correct eye colour lol When I first got i choose blue eyes, lets just say it didnt exactly work lol.

Are we ready to see my finished look?

unnamed (12)

Tah dah! While I was away taking my pic I grabbed my babyliss curling iron and gave my hair a quick makeover to lol

Well now I feel so much better, brighter lol I am off to write some more fabulous pieces for you guys and oh did someone mention cake?! lol

DIY Beauty Treatments – Do they Work?

Hey Guys!

How much do you pay for a good beauty product? Why are they so expensive? Do they even work? What about DIY at home beauty products? Do they work?. So I got on the old laptop and done some research. Turns out a lot of people do DIY beauty products at home but the feedback on their sites and blogs say that some that they posted didn’t even work.

So I picked 3 of my favourite ones to test for all of my lovely readers. Which means you can see what goes into the product, you can get clear instructions so you can try for yourself and the most important if it actually works!

First up….

Honey Lip Exfoliation Scrub

unnamed (26)

What you need:

(just a small amount one squeeze of the bottle will do)

(1/4 of a cup or mug)

Vaseline or Any Lip Balm You Have

Ok so you will have your ingredients in front you you and what we need to do is just mix the sugar and the honey together well. I used a spoon, but it started to get messy and it wasn’t mixing too well so I just put my hands in lol

Once its mixed it should be a golden gooey scrub mix. Don’t worry gooey is good lol Quote of the day guys you heard it here first!

“Gooey Is Good!”

So we take our mixture and we put some on our finger and then scrub, scrub, scrub! Forgot to say guys, you can mix this up in a tupperware box or a bowl whatever is the easiest to clean up I guess lol

Scrub the mixture onto your lips vigorously and leave on your lips for around 3 minutes. The sugar will take all the dead skin off, it really helps for dry, cracked lips. Your lips have the thinnest skin on your body so they should be sexy smooth and with this scrub they will be 🙂

Ok so 3 minutes have passed, head to the bathroom and wash off the scrub with warm water. Once you come back grab your lip balm of choice and put it on! You should feel the difference right away. When I first did it I was amazed at how quickly my lips changed from being dry and sore to full and soft. Below I have my before and after pictures, helps you see the results a little better 🙂

So now the verdict, does this DIY beauty product made from household ingredients work?

I have been using it for 3 weeks and my lips have never been better. Even when I put my favourite Revlon lip crayon on it makes a huge difference! Perfect lips every time!

A little tip before you run off to try it, only do this treatment ONCE a week. Remember your lips have the thinnest skin and we don’t want to damage them 🙂

I would love to hear your comments and thoughts on this beauty treatment guys. Let me know how it went, did it work for you? and why not send in some pictures to! 🙂

Planes Trains and Beauty

Who knew a world existed where you can get things for free? Not me! At the beginning I thought the world of samples where restricted to the supermarket when you got free cheese lol

After scrolling through the internet I came across some awesome websites and since this week I am focusing on students what better way to get the word out there than a blog post!

Being a student is hard, late nights, studying, exams, classes, and the worst the money. Its tight, in fact its tight for all of us student or not. So I have made up a little list of some of the best freebie websites out there. Some people might be a little hesitant to try these, its ok I was to. But this week I have had protein powder, shampoo, skin care, dog food and make up for FREE!. They are sample sizes but I love trying new things every day so having new make up or new shampoo to try is exciting stuff!

Even if money isn’t tight, the exciting part is getting new things in the post to try for free. Its that warm fuzzy feeling you get when a package arrives, you all know what I mean! 🙂

OK so my first one is Latest Free Stuff, this is a UK based website (not to worry i will add a USA one to) Click on the link here, once you are in, its so easy to start grabbing freebies. There is a panel to the left hand side with lots of categories to choose from, my favourite is the top 20 category, its where the best ones live 🙂

Once you have found a freebie you like, click the “Get Freebie” button, once you do you will be redirected to the company’s website where they ask for you name, email, address etc Very easy to fill in, really quick and all you do after that is put your feet up and wait for the post! Its that simple!

Its a fantastic website and its so easy to use guys head on over there now their latest freebie is perfume! 🙂

             Latest Free Stuff

An American one next, this one is called Free Stuff Finder, you can get onto the site by clicking here. This one is a little more all over the place compared to the last one. There isnt any categories, so you have to literally sit and search through the site. The reason I choose as one of the best is the freebies. They upload regularly and have some awesome freebies. Living in the UK I cant personally use this site, my friend does and living in the USA she says its the best!

Samples normally take up to a month to arrive so don’t panic! I normally go on everyday and see what is on offer, which means when I get my first lot in I know it wont be long until my other goodies arrive! 🙂

So open a newtab, load up these sites, what are you waiting for?

Freebies await you!
