Lady In Red – Kiss Cosmetics

Happy National Lipstick Day!

I have always loved the look of Kiss Cosmetics lipsticks, but when buying online I am always a little unsure if I will suit the colour and if it even looks like it does in the pictures.

While scrolling through Twitter, I noticed Kiss Cosmetics had posted a campaign poster, advertising their new Mini range. This means you can test one of their lipsticks out for £2.00 including postage!

What a fab idea. I was on their site within seconds picking out the colour I would love to try. I ended up choosing Lady in Red, it is a darker red than I normally choose, but I am going to an engagement party next week and I really want my lips to pop!

Kiss Cosmetics have always had reviews that state that their lipsticks last forever and the colour hardly fades. This is exactly what I was looking for, so since its National Lipstick Day and Kiss Cosmetics were so quick with their delivery and have sent me my gorgeous mini lipstick I am going to pop it on and do a little test.

So that is a few shots above of me with my Lady in Red on, I have to say it is stunning, it makes me feel so classy and important and ladies note this down, the boyfriend noticed how good it looks to!

I have had it on now for 5 hours now and as you can see it still looks great! It has obviously faded a little but it is red, it pops and I have been drinking, talking and going about my daily routine. Overall I agree with the reviews they have had, the colour really does stay with you all day and my lips look really good. Their new mini test idea is my new beauty must have, I can’t wait to try out more colours and pair them with all my shoes! 🙂

DIY Wedding Gift/ Extra Wedding Gift

Who else is sick of giving the usual gift at a wedding? Money, spoons, photo frames?

Well my partner and I gave our best friends money, some in English and some for their honeymoon in Bali but also wanted to get them a little something they could keep and look back on. Our friend circle is quite big and they didn’t really get a chance to sit with us much, seeing as it was their day and they were dancing all night. So we took lots of pictures and I have went around and gathered them all up, got them printed and came up with in my eyes the best wedding present ever!

So once you have all your photos, you need to get a scrapbook, I got this cream one for £8.00 on Amazon, its really good perfect size and its blank so plenty of room for your special touches. You will also need some scrap book extras, like stickers, ribbon, flowers, anything you want really. You don’t want too much and you don’t want something that is bulky, otherwise your book wont close. DSCN2771

I got some crystal letters, silver wedding stickers, paper flowers (same colour as her bridesmaids) and I also got some wooden hearts, I actually got them from her wedding so I thought that would be a cute touch.  I got my scrapbook goodies from The Range, all of these were only £1.00 each.

Arrange your photos and stickers out first making sure that you are happy before you stick them down. Once you do a couple of pages you get into the swing of things and might not need to arrange and just let your creativity flow. I really enjoyed making this book and I think this is such a cute and unique extra little gift that you give the person. I am actually going to go around and get our friends to write a few words next to their picture, just as a little extra.

The book only costs £15 to make including the pictures being printed and I think with yourself making it, it really makes it special. So why not try something different and make your wedding gift this year, and if you are stuck for a wedding to go to, you can even try making one for another special occasion.

Cloudberry Living Haul!

I recently won a £100 voucher to spend online at Cloudberry Living. I was so excited to win this, my partner and I have been talking about getting our own little place for so long. Winning this voucher has pushed us in the right direction, we have decided to move in together in a year or so and we thought what better way to start than to to get free things for our house!

The first thing we got, this one will sound so silly to most people but my boyfriend loves glasses and jars he has a strange obsession with them lol. So he picked out this gorgeous water carafe’, I think its lovely, in my mind I thought it would look amazing when we have our first guests over. Eek!

DSCN2754

Next we both choose these tumblers, my boyfriends family are all about whiskey and since living with them , I have to say I have grown rather fond of it myself. With these we decided that they would only be taken out for a very special occasion, being that they are £25 for 2 and if anyone broke one I would freak lol

This one was my choice, how cute are these? They are called love birds cups and I just cant get enough of them, they are so pretty and I love the oak stopper to keep your drink hot, I can only drink boiling hot tea, so this one is my favourite.

Finally we picked this, we wont be having kids for a while but we just loved this and we wanted to keep it really nice and give it to our son or daughter when the day came.

Phew who knew spending £100 could be so easy and so fast! I am so happy that I won this and I want to say thank you to Cloudberry and dont cramp my style for the opportunity. With all this luck floating around I am off to enter more!

New Look and Primark Haul

Friday has arrived, which means only one thing, its payday! I had been on the internet for hours over the last few days, looking through clothes that I would like for my new job. The time has finally come to show you what I got, there are still a few pieces missing that I need to get, but I thought why not make it into two shopping trips!

unnamed (61)

First up I got this amazing skirt from New Look, a leather look skirt was on my list and I found this one in the sale for only £7.00 down from £12.99. Planning on pairing this with some cute tops in the Autumn with tights and then some cute sweaters to wear with it in the winter with thicker tights. Versatile.

unnamed (62)

Next up is this cute tan suede skirt, am not actually sure why I got this or what I am going to put it with yet, I just love it so much and had to have it. This one was also on sale for only £9.00 down from £19.99, a great bargain! I am thinking tights ith tan boots for autumn with maybe a cream top or sweter, not too sure but I cant wait to start styling it up.

unnamed (64)

Next to the skirts was a rack full of jumpers and me being me I had to go through it! There wasn’t much in my size but I did find this cutie. It went amazing with the first skirt when I tried it on, so one sweater can be ticked of my list. This was only £8.00 down from £17.99 so that saves some pennies to buy more.

unnamed (63)

After New Look we headed to Primark, I know there are a few out there that dislike Primark and find there things lacking in quality compared to other stores. But I think Primark is rather good and if you right there could be some hidden gems. Today I couldn’t find any, I think by this point I was starving and lacking the motivation to do any more. However I did pick up some tights to go with my skirt. A bargain at £3.00 for 3 pairs, just in case I get a hole, I tend to rip my tights within the first hour but for a pound each you cant go wrong.

unnamed (65)

Just as I was about to pay I spotted these, I actually wanted them in navy but the black were actually really cute and I could easily pair these up with a cute cami and jeans or with my H and M sailor skirt. They said £8.00 on the ticket but turns out they were only £4.00, so I am super happy, I might actually go back tomorrow and pick a white pair up for my holidays. Means if they get dirty or ruined I wont be too sad as they were only £4.00.

unnamed (66)

Well that’s my hauling done for the day, I have to say shopping can be tiring. But I had so much fun and I cant wait for round two and I cant wait to style these up and show you all.

Happy Shopping Guys!

Garrion Bridges – Antique Day Out

Felling very sad this week, my boyfriend has had to go to London to do some research for work and being without him is proving difficult. You think the fact that he is away all the time I would be used to it by now. He has the most amazing family and today to keep me from being distracted and worried they dragged me to an antique center. With all the hesitations in the world, one being that I am not an antique kind of girl, I decided just to go with it!

unnamed (34)

Upon a arrival I was too busy talking as usual and turned round and screamed when I saw this…

unnamed (35)

I honestly thought it was two people, I am so silly and I gave myself such a fright! After a few dodgy looks from people near by I laughed myself inside, thinking it can only get better. The center is absolutely packed full of antiques and goods. Its amazing to walk around, all the way through I kept wondering where certain items came from and its history, it actually became really interesting. Some items brought fits of laughter, like this doll, i kept calling it Annabelle and my boyfriends mother said to take a picture and get it framed and put it on my boyfriends bedside table for him coming home. My boyfriend hates dolls and I found this rather funny and decided to take the picture. I maybe wont go as far as to print it but I will creep him out for sure lol

unnamed (36)

Check out some other things I came across that I just loved!

I just loved the pendant light shade, the picture doesn’t do it justice, it is full of yellow, white and oranges, just imagine that with floods of light through it, it would look amazing! While walking around my boyfriends mum reminded me that she is heading to an 80’s themed party and just as this was said we walked past a heap of clothes. With my love being fashion, I jumped in and started pulling out sweatsuits, sequins and fur! I couldn’t find anything that really screamed 80’s, then I found the hat section lol I didn’t find anything 80’s but I did find some crackers including this beauty…. lol

unnamed (41)

A hat made of hair! This is my lovely boyfriends mum who was very happy to model for me lol

They really made my day, it makes you feel very lucky to have family around you, no matter what happens and no matter how silly you may feel for being sad. I came home feeling better and I even found my self an amazing first edition of ‘The China Run;’ Not forgetting the 3 books I got my boyfriend on his research topic!

Remember family is for life!

A Night at Michaelangelo’s

logovector

The other day my partner and I were looking for a place to eat. Being obsessed with Frankie and Bennys have proven to be a strain on our wallets. We wanted to find somewhere different and that is how we found ourselves in Michaelangelo’s in Clarkston. The small restaurant was somehow full of people, I never thought you could fit so many into one long and narrow room.  Although the restaurant was full, the staff were amazing and the atmosphere was surprisingly comforting.

After 3 courses we were stuffed. I had the most amazing mozzarella fritters I have ever had and the tomato and chili sauce was just to die for. The food was out of this world and the man, who I am assuming was the owner was the nicest man I have ever met. He was so down to earth and made you feel at home. The settings were modern with a classic Italian twist. A Clarkston gem!

Clo Clo London Mini Haul

unnamed (16)

When a girl hears sale she hears shopping and when Clo Clo London announced their penny sale I heard haul!

I have never heard of a penny sale but the penny part got my attention. When I got on the site they still had so much left, but each customer was limited to only 5 pieces each, so my haul became a mini haul.

After a few days wait my pieces are here, hope you like them 🙂

What a haul, or should I say mini haul. Every item was 1p and the delivery was £2.99, never had a bargain like this in my life! I hope other businesses catch on and do a penny sale to hint hint misguided! 🙂

Wedding Guest Make Up

Wedding season is here! I am so excited, I am such a sucker for a good wedding. Over the next few years, my boyfriend and I have so many good friends who are getting married. This means lots of outfits, engagement parties and pictures!

Our first came on Friday when our two friends got hitched, I am so over the moon for them, they are so well suited and are the sweetest couple in the world.

While getting ready I took some pictures, to complete a ‘wedding guest’ post, some help if you will, if you are stuck for hair ideas, make up or clothes.

unnamed (98)

No make up shot! The before to my after 🙂

Make up time!

After tanning up with some St Moriz, I used Maybellines new Dream Flawless Nude foundation, finishing off with some MUA bronzer. I know some people go into so much detail with their face make up but I like to keep it simple and light especially when I am going to a night wedding, all that dancing = a lot of sweating lol

For my eyes I did a simple smokey eye with my MUA palette. Finishing it off with my MaX Factor eye brightening mascara and my Miss Sporty liquid liner.

For my lips I choose Persian Rose by MUA, the magic £1.00 lipstick, that I absolutely love! I have to have one in every colour!

So that’s my make up done, I don’t tend to do a lot, I love having make up on but I hate having so much on, always harder to take off and sweating with black eyes is not a good look lol

For my hair, I couldn’t go up because it was too formal and I felt down was messy, so half up half down seemed perfect. I lifted the top section of my hair and back combed a little to give it some height. Using kirby grips I pined it up, pushing a little to make the quiff stand out. I curled the ends of my hair using my BaByliss curlers and added a light mist of hairspray to hold it all together. I will post a full ‘How To’ hair tutorial soon, maybe be easier to understand lol

That is it, all done, I was ready to rock it!

Keep your eyes peeled for the full hair tutorial on my half up half down look. 🙂

Fragrance Friday – Kelly Brooks Audition

Another Friday has arrived and this one is set to be a busy one. My partners best friend is getting married today, as a guest I want to look and smell fabulous! I planned my outfit months ago and I was so lucky to be able to design a bracelet on Mink and Stone , so that meant my jewellery was sorted to. All that was left was my signature scent, I normally have 3 perfumes that I love to wear, and although some might think this is crazy choosing a perfume, finishes of your outfit as much as a pair of shoes.

The other day I was sent through a gorgeous bottle of Kelly Brooks new perfume Audition. Naturally a girls dream getting perfume sent to her house, I got very excited and couldn’t wait to try it out.  After a few sprays, I have decided to make it Fragrance Friday favourite and wear it to the wedding! Signature scent sorted.

DSCN2463

DSCN2466

The design: The perfume its self is gorgeous, but not forgetting the bottle and box. The bottle is just stunning, I almost get a Channel theme screaming from it. Its so classy and elegant. I am an absolute sucker for gold, so this ticks all the boxes for me. Even though you cant wear the box or bottle, it looks incredible on my dresser.

What it smells like: I honestly think it smells gorgeous, a few other girls disagree with me but its all about taste. The top notes are apple, melon and bergamot. Mix that with amber and musk and its my kind of perfume. Its so fruity and strong, it lasts all day.

Where to wear it: I never go against my better judgement, so this is me stepping well outside the box. This perfume I would say is more during the day, girly lunch, day out with family type of scent but I am going to go wild and wear it at night. Being a night guest to the wedding, I let this scent inspire me, I am going for a black classy jumpsuit, big sparkle heels and gold accessories. The scent makes me feel sexy, classy and elegant. I think this scent is perfect for night to.

You can get yourself a 100ml bottle for only £11.89! Just click here
